iPhone Air Price and Review Singapore

By Jon Ng, AI Chief at Novatise · Updated

Apple launched the iPhone Air in Singapore at S$1,599[4]. Thirteen months later, it's still on sale at the Apple Store, but at S$1,749[1]. Courts, meanwhile, lists the same 256GB phone at S$1,199[7]. That S$550 spread is the most useful fact in this review, because the case for the Air is much stronger at S$1,199 than at S$1,749.

How we put this together: We haven't tested this phone ourselves. This review brings together published reviews, Apple's specs and Singapore pricing and repair data. Every price was checked on 31 Oct 2026.

Is the iPhone Air still worth buying in Singapore?

Only at a discount, and only if thinness matters to you more than battery life and a second camera. Apple has not discontinued it. It sells the 256GB at S$1,749, the 512GB at S$2,049 and the 1TB at S$2,649, in four colours[1]. That is only S$150 below the iPhone 18 Pro[3]. In every battery test we found, the Air came last among the iPhone 17 models[19][20][21][22]. At Courts' S$1,199 it costs less than an iPhone 17 at Apple (S$1,449)[3][7], and that changes the maths.

Discontinued? No. Repriced? Yes

When the iPhone 18 Pro arrived in September 2026, Apple dropped the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max but kept the Air. It also raised the prices of the Air, iPhone 17, 17e and 16. MacRumors reported a US$100 rise for the Air in the US and linked the increases to higher memory chip costs[5]. In Singapore, the increase was bigger at the top end:

The 1TB jump stands out. The step from 512GB to 1TB used to cost S$300 and now costs S$600. MissLobang's launch table for the iPhone 18 Pro put the Air at S$1,749 from 10 September 2026[6], so the new price has held for about seven weeks. Apple's line-up now runs iPhone 17e S$1,099, iPhone 16 S$1,249, iPhone 17 S$1,449, iPhone Air S$1,749, iPhone 18 Pro S$1,899, iPhone 18 Pro Max S$2,099 and iPhone Duo S$3,099[3].

Courts' S$1,199 is 31% off Apple's price, and S$250 below what Apple charges for an iPhone 17[3][7]. The 512GB at Courts costs S$300 more, the same gap as at Apple. Harvey Norman's S$1,229 looked good on paper, but neither colour we opened could be ordered[8]. Markdowns this deep on an older model may not last, so check before you go.

Featured shop: Red White Mobile, North Bridge Centre didn't list a new iPhone Air on its price list on 31 Oct 2026[9], so we can't quote a new-unit price. It does publish buy-back prices for the Air (see the resale section below)[10]. Red White Mobile pays for a featured listing in our directory. That doesn't change the prices we report.

Paying monthly: three telcos, three totals

The telco deals are all for the 256GB model. We've added up what you'd pay over the full term, phone and plan together:

M1 Bespoke Flexi 600GB, new line, phone over 36 months[13]S$0S$84.95 all-inS$3,058.20

Some notes on these. Singtel also sells the phone at its full S$1,749 on SIM Only Plus plans, split into 12, 24 or 36 instalments of S$145.75, S$72.87 or S$48.58[11]. StarHub's page still shows the Air's usual price as S$1,599, the old launch figure, and its totals depend on DeviceDollars credits and new-line or port-in bonuses[12]. M1's figure includes a S$100 new-line discount. Port-ins get S$300 off instead, and the Cloud White 256GB was out of stock[13]. Singtel had the Air in stock[11].

Compare those totals with Courts' S$1,199 plus Singtel's S$40 Enhanced Core SIM-only plan for two years: S$2,159[7][11]. Only the cheapest Singtel contract comes close to that, and you'd still pay more than S$1,000 upfront.

What 5.64mm costs you

The Air is 5.64mm thick and weighs 165g, against 7.95mm and 177g for the iPhone 17[2][23]. It has the A19 Pro chip, a 6.5-inch 120Hz screen, IP68 water resistance and Ceramic Shield 2 on the front[2]. Reviewers liked how it feels to carry. GSMArena called it "an impressive engineering feat"[15]. Most reviews then list the same three costs.

1. Battery life

Apple rates the Air at up to 27 hours of video, against 30 hours for the iPhone 17[2][23]. Apple doesn't publish battery capacities, but HardwareZone reports teardowns found a 3,149mAh cell[14]. Lab results, from tests that put the Air next to its siblings:

In daily use, HardwareZone's reviewer usually got a low-battery warning between 8pm and 9pm after about four hours of screen time, and said heavy users would need a midday charge[14]. The Verge called battery life "just okay", and its reviewer worried about how it would hold up a year later as the battery wears[16]. Macworld made the same point more sharply: after a year or two, "you're going to be looking for a charger every single day"[17]. Anyone buying in late 2026 should take that seriously. Apple's MagSafe battery for the Air, sold separately, raises Apple's video playback figure to 40 hours[2].

2. One rear camera

The back has a single 48MP main camera with a 2x crop. The iPhone 17 adds a 48MP ultrawide[2][23]. Without an ultrawide, the Air also loses macro shots, and with a single lens it can't record Spatial Video[17]. HardwareZone's reviewer said the main camera produces images "mostly just as good" as the Pro models. But they still missed an ultrawide on holiday, and it was the reason they wouldn't buy the Air themselves[14]. The 18MP Center Stage selfie camera got praise across the board[14][15].

The Air next to its neighbours

Apple's line-up puts the Air between the iPhone 17 and the 18 Pro. Here's what you get at each step, using Apple's own prices[3]:

At Apple's prices, the Air is hard to justify. It costs S$300 more than the iPhone 17 but has a shorter battery life and one camera fewer. It's only S$150 less than the 18 Pro. At S$1,199, the trade is different: you pay less than for an iPhone 17 at Apple and get the A19 Pro chip and the thinner, lighter body. Just check what shops are charging for the 17 before you decide.

If it breaks

A thin phone doesn't come with cheap repairs. Here's what we could find:

The battery is the repair most Air owners will eventually need, given the test results above. At S$145 to S$175, it's cheap compared with buying a new phone. With AppleCare+, Apple replaces the battery free once its capacity falls below 80%. Accidental damage costs S$42 for a cracked screen or back glass, and S$148 for other damage[25]. We couldn't see an AppleCare+ price for the Air on Apple's store page, so check at checkout.

Resale: the weak spot nobody mentions

Red White Mobile's buy-back list pays S$720 for a used 256GB Air, S$870 for a 512GB and S$970 for a 1TB. Sealed, non-activated units fetch S$1,050, S$1,170 and S$1,270. Opened sets lose S$50, or S$100 if activated[10]. A used 256GB iPhone 17 fetches S$820 on the same list[10], so the Air is worth S$100 less on resale even though Apple charges S$300 more for it new. For a used 256GB, S$720 is 41% of Apple's current price. Against Courts' S$1,199, it's 60%.

Who should buy it

Buy it if

You hate carrying a heavy phone, you mostly use the main camera, you're on Wi-Fi much of the day, and you can get it near Courts' S$1,199. Plan to replace the battery in two or three years.

Skip it if

You'd be paying Apple's S$1,749. You're a heavy user, you travel a lot and take wide shots, or you want a phone that lasts five years on one battery. The iPhone 17 or the 18 Pro makes more sense for you.
