Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 Price and Review Singapore
By Jon Ng, AI Chief at Novatise · Updated
A cracked inner screen on the Galaxy Z Flip8 costs S$453 at Samsung before GST, according to Samsung's own repair estimator. That's 27% of the phone's S$1,678 launch price, and S$88 more than the same repair on last year's Flip7. Samsung made the phone thinner and lighter this year, and fixing the part you touch most got pricier. So this review starts with what breaks and what it costs, then gets to the shopping.
How we put this together: We haven't tested this phone ourselves. This review brings together published reviews, official specs and Singapore pricing and repair data. Prices were checked on 27 Oct 2026.
How much is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 in Singapore?
Samsung Singapore sells it at S$1,678 (12GB/256GB) and S$1,978 (12GB/512GB), the same as the July launch prices[1][2]. On 27 Oct 2026, Harvey Norman had the 256GB Graphite at S$1,630[4], and Red White Mobile (a featured shop) listed it at S$1,198 for 256GB and S$1,338 for 512GB[5][6]. On a two-year Singtel or M1 contract, the cheapest 256GB totals we saw ran from S$2,228 to S$2,352[8].

What a broken Flip8 costs to fix
We ran Samsung's Repair Cost Estimator for the Flip8 and Flip7 (256GB models) on 27 Oct 2026[11]. Samsung says the figures are estimates, not final prices, and don't include taxes. We've added 9% GST so you can see what you'd actually pay. Repairs are done at Samsung's service centres at Causeway Point, VivoCity, Jem and Bedok Mall.
| Repair | Flip8 (before GST) | Flip8 with 9% GST | Flip7 (before GST) | Share of S$1,678 | Share of S$1,198 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Inner (main) folding screen | S$453 | S$494 | S$365 | 27% | 38% |
| Cover screen | S$212 | S$231 | S$253 | 13% | 18% |
| Battery (both cells) | S$143 | S$156 | S$170 | 9% | 12% |
| Back glass | S$100 | S$109 | S$115 | 6% | 8% |
The S$453 inner screen figure is S$370 for the part, S$80 labour and S$3 for a kit. For the Flip7, Samsung also lists a cheaper S$344 "screen repair" option next to the S$365 replacement. For a Flip8 that won't charge, the estimator gives S$969, because that fault can mean a new motherboard.
The inner screen is the one to worry about. It's the bigger cost, and it's the screen you press against every time you fold the phone. The other parts got cheaper this year: the cover screen, battery and back glass each cost S$15 to S$41 less than on the Flip7.
What about independent shops? Lite Mobile doesn't list Flip8 prices yet[12], so for now you'll have to ask for a quote. For the Flip7 it charges S$275 for an inner screen, S$145 for the outer screen, S$45 for back glass and S$145 for a hinge repair. Those are well below Samsung's prices. Flip8 parts are newer and harder to find, so don't expect those rates straight away. Our screen repair, battery replacement and back glass pages list shops you can call.
Is Samsung Care+ worth it on a foldable?
On most phones we'd say skip it. On a flip phone the maths works out differently. Samsung's Care+ page lists these plans for the Z Flip8[10]:
| Plan | 12 months | 24 months | Screen repairs | Other accidental damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Care+ Lite | S$48 | not offered | One, S$100 fee | Not covered |
| Care+ | S$168 | S$298 (or S$14.90/mth) | One, S$100 fee | S$150 fee per claim |
| Care+ Premium | S$288 | S$398 (or S$19.90/mth) | Unlimited, S$100 fee each | Unlimited, S$150 fee each |
Care+ Lite is the cheap one. S$48 plus the S$100 fee is S$148 for an inner screen in the first year. Without cover, Samsung would charge about S$494. You only need one bad drop to come out ahead. The two-year Premium plan costs S$498 with one claim, slightly more than one uncovered repair. It only pays off if you break the phone twice, or you just want to stop worrying about it.
Samsung's launch release also mentioned a S$339 New Galaxy Club with a guaranteed trade-in value and Care+ included[2]. Ask in store whether it's still offered before you count on it.
How tough is the Flip8?
It's rated IP48. The 8 means it can handle being submerged in fresh water. The 4 means it only keeps out solid objects of 1mm or larger, so fine dust and sand can still get in. GSMArena says to be careful at the beach[15], and in Singapore you'd add sandy park benches and pocket lint. The outside uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Samsung's Armor Aluminum frame.
The inner screen is ultra-thin glass with a factory-fitted protective film. GSMArena warns not to peel it off. The film stops about a millimetre short of the frame, and dust collects in that gap[15]. If the film gets damaged, Samsung's service centres can replace it. Its reviewers called the crease "practically invisible" and said the phone closes flat with no gap. They also describe the hinge changes as subtle.
No reviewer we read had tested the hinge over months of folding, so we can't tell you how it holds up. We didn't get a separate hinge price from Samsung's estimator, so ask the service centre or a shop for a quote if the hinge starts to feel loose.

What changed from the Flip7
Not much, and reviewers agree on that. GSMArena listed "barely any upgrades over the Flip7" in its cons[18]. HardwareZone's Cheryl Tan pointed out the phone has had "three generations of the same cameras"[13].
- Lighter and thinner: 180g and 6.1mm folded, compared with 188g and 6.5mm for the Flip7[15].
- Chip: Exynos 2600, with 12GB RAM and UFS 4.0 storage[13][14].
- Battery: still 4,300mAh, with 25W wired, 15W wireless and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. There's no charger in the box[14][16].
- Software: it ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, and Samsung promises seven years of OS updates[14].
- SIM: one physical SIM plus eSIM[14].
Tan still called it "arguably the best foldable clamshell phone you can buy"[13]. Her advice: it's worth buying if you have a Flip6 or older, and Flip7 owners can skip it. We think that's right.
Battery, charging and heat
The battery size didn't change, but the results did. Here are GSMArena's measurements[16]:
| Test | Result |
|---|---|
| Active Use Score | 14:14h (only Motorola's Razr flagships did better) |
| 25W charge, 15 minutes | 30% |
| 25W charge, 30 minutes | 56% |
| Full charge | 1:19h (the Flip7 took 1:31h) |
| Peak brightness (inner screen) | 2,679 nits measured, 3,000 nits claimed |
A 79-minute full charge is slow for a S$1,678 phone, but it's 12 minutes quicker than before. The bigger problem is heat. GSMArena listed "heavy thermal throttling" as a con[18], meaning the Exynos chip slows down under sustained load. If you game for long stretches, the Flip8 isn't the phone for you.

The cameras are a 50MP main and a 12MP ultrawide, unchanged from the Flip7. GSMArena says they're dependable in daylight, but low-light shots and video stabilisation are still weak[17]. The cover screen runs 16 native apps, according to HardwareZone[13], so you can reply to messages without opening the phone.

Samsung charges S$300 more for the extra 256GB. Red White Mobile charges S$140. Samsung's page also showed a banner for "up to $138 off" and trade-in credit of S$10 to S$679, depending on your old phone[1]. Those discounts depend on what you trade in, so we've left them out of the table. For comparison, the Flip7 launched at S$1,648 (256GB) and S$1,828 (512GB)[3]. The Flip8 256GB costs S$30 more, and the 512GB S$150 more.
Featured shop: Red White Mobile, North Bridge Centre listed the Galaxy Z Flip8 at S$1,198 (12GB/256GB in Pink, Cream and Graphite) and S$1,338 (12GB/512GB in Mint, Cream and Graphite) on 27 Oct 2026[5][6]. Neither listing was marked out of stock. Further down the same pages, a spec table shows different, higher prices, so confirm the price when you call. They're at 420 North Bridge Road, #01-20, open 11am to 9.30pm daily; call 6735 4811 or WhatsApp 8668 4811. Red White Mobile pays for a featured listing in our directory. That doesn't change the prices we report.
Contract prices compared
Here are 24-month plans from WhistleOut, updated 27 Oct 2026[8][9]. The totals include the upfront price plus 24 monthly payments.
| Plan | Monthly | 256GB upfront | 256GB total | 512GB upfront | 512GB total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Singtel Enhanced XS (80GB) | S$62 | S$740 | S$2,228 | S$980 | S$2,468 |
| M1 Bespoke 50GB | S$62.95 | S$841 | S$2,351.80 | S$1,022 | S$2,532.80 |
| Singtel Enhanced S | S$78 | S$600 | S$2,472 | S$830 | S$2,702 |
| M1 Bespoke 200GB | S$79.95 | S$643 | S$2,561.80 | S$824 | S$2,742.80 |
| Singtel Enhanced M | S$98 | S$350 | S$2,702 | S$550 | S$2,902 |
On Singtel's XS plan, the 256GB costs S$2,228 in total. That's S$550 more than buying the phone from Samsung, which works out to about S$22.92 a month for an 80GB line. That's a reasonable price for a line. Compared with Red White Mobile's S$1,198, though, the same contract costs S$1,030 more, or about S$42.92 a month. That's roughly what a SIM-only plan with far more data would cost. If you can pay for the phone upfront, buy it from a shop and get a cheap SIM-only plan. StarHub showed prices "from" S$97.91 a month (256GB) and S$110.41 (512GB), but we couldn't see the full plan details, so StarHub isn't in the table.
How fast does a Flip lose its value?
Red White Mobile's trade-in list gives an idea[7]. A sealed Flip8 gets S$1,170 (256GB) or S$1,300 (512GB). That's close to what the shop sells it for, so a phone you haven't opened keeps most of its value. The list has no price for a used Flip8 yet. The older models show how far prices fall once a phone has been opened:
| Model | Used | Sealed |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Z Flip8 256GB / 512GB | Unknown | S$1,170 / S$1,300 |
| Galaxy Z Flip7 256GB / 512GB | S$520 / S$570 | S$900 / S$950 |
| Galaxy Z Flip7 FE 256GB | S$450 | S$770 |
| Galaxy Z Flip6 256GB / 512GB | S$350 / S$400 | not listed |
A used Flip7 256GB that launched at S$1,648 last year now sells to the shop for S$520, about a third of what it cost new. Flip phones lose value quickly, and a cracked inner screen cuts the trade-in price even more. Another reason to get the S$48 Care+ Lite.
Should you buy it?
Buy it if you have a Flip6 or older
You'll get much better battery life, a lighter phone and seven years of updates. Buy it from a shop at around S$1,200, and add Care+ Lite.
Skip it if you have a Flip7
Same cameras, same battery capacity, and your used phone only gets S$520 in trade. GSMArena says a much cheaper Flip7 is the better deal[18].
Skip it if you want the best camera
HardwareZone says the same money gets you a Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Honor Magic8 Pro, vivo X300 Pro or OPPO Find X9 Pro[13]. For a regular-shaped Samsung, see our Galaxy S26 review.
Our pick: the 256GB from a shop at about S$1,200, plus S$48 for Care+ Lite. If you want to buy from Samsung, it's worth waiting, since Harvey Norman is already S$48 below Samsung's price. Is the Galaxy Z Flip8 waterproof and dustproof?
It is rated IP48. It can survive being submerged in fresh water, but it only keeps out particles of 1mm or larger, so fine sand and dust can still get in. GSMArena advises care at the beach.
Should I upgrade from the Galaxy Z Flip7?
Most reviewers say no. GSMArena lists barely any upgrades over the Flip7, and HardwareZone says Flip7 owners can skip it. It makes more sense if you have a Flip6 or older.
How long does the Galaxy Z Flip8 take to charge?
GSMArena measured 30% in 15 minutes, 56% in 30 minutes and a full charge in 79 minutes with a 25W charger. There is no charger in the box.
Is Samsung Care+ worth it for the Z Flip8?
Care+ Lite costs S$48 for 12 months and covers one screen repair at a S$100 fee. One inner screen repair without cover is about S$494 at Samsung, so one accident covers the cost of the plan.
