Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Price and Review Singapore
By Jon Ng, AI Chief at Novatise · Updated
Here's the odd thing about Samsung's 2026 foldables. The new Galaxy Z Fold8 is S$200 cheaper than last year's Fold7 was at launch, and S$300 cheaper than the Fold8 Ultra sitting next to it. Its inner screen, though, costs more to replace than the Fold7's did. So the real question isn't only "Fold8 or Ultra". It's how much you'll pay over two years once you add a case, cover and the odd accident. We've worked through those numbers below.
How we put this together: We haven't tested this phone ourselves. This review draws on published reviews from HardwareZone and GSMArena, Samsung's official specs, and Singapore prices and repair quotes, all checked on 28 Oct 2026.
How much is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 in Singapore?
Samsung Singapore sells it at S$2,498 (12GB/256GB), S$2,798 (12GB/512GB) and S$3,398 (16GB/1TB), unchanged since launch[1][3]. On 28 Oct 2026, Harvey Norman had it at S$2,450, S$2,660 and S$3,110[5][6][7]. Red White Mobile, a featured shop, listed S$1,988, S$2,098 and S$2,498, with every size marked out of stock[9][10][11]. The cheapest two-year contract total we found for the 256GB was S$2,574.68 on M1[13].

Fold8, Fold8 Ultra or a leftover Fold7?
Samsung split the Fold line in two this year. The Fold8 is the new short, wide one. Folded, it measures 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7mm, about the size of a passport[19]. It weighs 201g, has a 5.5-inch cover screen and opens into a 7.6-inch inner screen that Samsung markets as 4:3[20]. The Fold8 Ultra keeps the tall book shape of older Folds and adds a 200MP main camera and a telephoto lens[19].
| Storage | Galaxy Z Fold8 | Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12GB/256GB | S$2,498 | S$2,798 | S$300 |
| 12GB/512GB | S$2,798 | S$3,098 | S$300 |
| 16GB/1TB | S$3,398 | S$3,698 | S$300 |
All Fold8 colours were in stock on Samsung's store (Lavender, Graphite, Cream, plus Pistachio online only)[1]. For the Ultra, the 1TB showed out of stock in three of its four colours[2]. Samsung's own FAQ on the Fold8 page says "from S$2,448", which doesn't match the S$2,498 in its buying tool. We've used the buying-tool price.
The Fold7 launched at S$2,698 for 256GB[4]. Last year, then, S$2,700 got you the book-shaped Fold. This year the same money buys the Ultra's slot minus S$100, or the smaller Fold8 with S$200 to spare.
What do you give up for that S$300? The telephoto camera, mostly. Both reviews we read flag it. HardwareZone's Liu Hongzuo found the main and ultrawide cameras about as good as the Ultra's in daylight, but said the missing telephoto "prevents the device from completely eclipsing its competition"[19]. GSMArena was blunter: the main camera "is not flagship-grade, particularly in low light"[24]. Otherwise the two share the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the IP48 rating and 45W charging. The Fold8's 4,800mAh battery is only 200mAh smaller than the Ultra's, and the phone is about 15g lighter[20].
What does the extra storage really cost?
At Samsung, 512GB adds S$300 and the jump from 512GB to 1TB adds S$600, which also gets you 16GB of RAM instead of 12GB. Harvey Norman narrows those gaps to S$210 and S$450. Red White Mobile's listed gap between 256GB and 512GB is only S$110. Its 1TB, at S$2,498, costs the same as Samsung's base model.
Harvey Norman's discount grows with storage: S$48 off the 256GB, S$138 off the 512GB and S$288 off the 1TB.
The repair bill
We ran Samsung's Repair Cost Estimator for the Fold8 and Fold7 (256GB) on 28 Oct 2026[17]. The figures are estimates before GST, so we've added 9% to show roughly what you'd pay at the counter.
| Repair | Fold8 (before GST) | Fold8 with 9% GST | Fold7 (before GST) | Share of S$2,498, with GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Inner screen, full replacement | S$851 | S$928 | S$816 | 37% |
| Inner screen, repair option | S$665 | S$725 | S$594 | 29% |
| Cover screen | S$239 | S$261 | S$246 | 10% |
| Battery (both cells) | S$163 | S$178 | S$170 | 7% |
| Back glass | S$141 | S$154 | S$117 | 6% |
The S$851 replacement is S$768 for the screen module, S$80 labour and S$3 for a kit. The estimator also lists a cheaper S$665 inner screen repair. Ask the service centre which one your damage needs.
A new inner screen comes to about S$928, more than a third of the phone's price. It's S$35 more than the Fold7 job before tax, even though the phone itself is cheaper. The cover screen and battery went down slightly. Back glass went up S$24.
Independent shops can be much cheaper, but not yet for this model. Lite Mobile has no Fold8 prices listed[18], so for now Fold8 repair prices outside Samsung are unknown. For the Fold7, the same list shows S$630 for an inner screen, S$150 for the outer screen, S$75 for back glass and S$198 for a hinge. Don't assume Fold8 jobs will cost the same; call and ask for a quote. Our screen repair, battery and back glass pages list shops worth calling.

Care+ costs more for the Fold, and it's still worth it
Samsung's Care+ page lists these plans for the Z Fold8[16]:
| Plan | 12 months | 24 months | Screen repairs | Other accidental damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Care+ Lite | S$58 | not offered | One, S$100 fee | Not covered |
| Care+ | S$198 | S$388 (or S$19.90/mth) | One, S$100 fee | S$150 fee per claim |
| Care+ Premium | S$348 | S$458 (or S$22.90/mth) | Unlimited, S$100 fee each | Unlimited, S$150 fee each |
With Care+ Lite, a broken inner screen in year one costs S$158 in total (S$58 plus the S$100 fee), against about S$928 without cover. One accident saves you roughly S$770. If you drop phones often, two-year Premium with two screen claims comes to S$658.
At launch, Samsung's S$339 New Galaxy Club bundled Care+ with a guaranteed trade-in value, but registration closed on 13 August[4]. Don't plan around it.
How tough is it?
The frame is Samsung's Advanced Armor aluminium. There's Gorilla Glass Victus Ceramic 3 on the cover screen and Victus 2 on the back[20]. The inner screen is still plastic on top, as on every foldable. Under it, Samsung now uses two thin titanium plates, which it calls Flex Titanium, to resist pressure and help with the crease[21].
GSMArena found the crease on its Fold8 "far less visible" than on its Fold8 Ultra, though not gone[21]. HardwareZone agreed you barely see it in use, but said it's "still obvious to the touch" and that the phone wobbles on a desk when laid camera-down[19]. HardwareZone found the bevelled edges make it easier to open than older Folds. GSMArena agreed it takes less effort, but still found opening it one-handed impractical[21].
The weak spot is the IP48 rating. The 8 means it survives fresh water down to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. The 4 only covers solids of 1mm or bigger, so fine sand and dust aren't covered[20][21]. HardwareZone called this "on the lower side" now that some foldables reach IP68[19]. A hinge-protection case is S$78 and Samsung's magnet cases cost S$98 to S$118[4]. Since the phone has no built-in magnets, you need a magnet case for magnetic wireless chargers anyway[22].
Battery, charging and heat
Samsung moved to a silicon-carbon battery this year, and both reviews were happy with the result.
| Test | GSMArena[22] | HardwareZone[19] |
|---|---|---|
| Battery test | Nearly 14 hours Active Use Score | Over 13 hours in PCMark Work, inner screen |
| 45W charging, early | 39% in 15 minutes | 50% in 25 minutes |
| 45W charging, 30 minutes | 65% | not reported |
| Full charge | About 69 minutes | About 65 minutes |
For context, the Fold7 took 1 hour 27 minutes to fill on GSMArena's 25W test[22], so this is a real step up. There's no charger in the box, so budget for a 45W one if you don't already own one.
The reviews differ on heat. GSMArena's stress tests had the phone losing around half its peak speed under long loads, and called out noticeable heat under prolonged loads[23][24]. HardwareZone saw the performance taper off but measured no more than 34°C in an air-conditioned room[19]. Outdoors in Singapore, expect it to run warmer. Everyday speed isn't in question.

Is the shape worth it?
This is where reviewers get keen. GSMArena said the wider cover screen is "genuinely pleasant to use" for typing and reading, not just quick tasks. Its design page liked the near-square inner screen for photos, books and comics, and found 16:9 video fits it with minimal black bars, better than on the Ultra[21][24]. Liu at HardwareZone gave it an Editor's Choice award, though he found the under-display camera intrudes in full-screen apps and e-books[19].
The criticism is consistent too: no telephoto, a weaker main camera at night, IP48, and the price. GSMArena put it this way: "you can buy practically any conventional flagship" for the money[24]. Samsung also promises seven major Android upgrades, which matters on a phone you'll want to keep long enough to justify S$2,500[24].

Samsung's store also showed trade-in credit of S$10 to S$1,177, the top figure being for a Fold7 1TB, and up to 5% back in rewards[1]. Those depend on what you hand over, so we left them out.
Featured shop: Red White Mobile, North Bridge Centre listed the Galaxy Z Fold8 at S$1,988 (12GB/256GB), S$2,098 (12GB/512GB) and S$2,498 (16GB/1TB) on 28 Oct 2026, in Graphite, Lavender and Cream with Samsung Singapore's one-year warranty[9][10][11]. All three were marked out of stock, with a note to call or WhatsApp to reserve. A table further down the same pages shows different, higher prices, so confirm the price before you go. They're at 420 North Bridge Road, #01-20; call 6735 4811 or WhatsApp 8668 4811. Red White Mobile pays for a featured listing in our directory. That doesn't change the prices we report.
Contract and instalment prices
These are 24-month plans on WhistleOut, updated 28 Oct 2026[13][14]. Totals are the upfront price plus 24 monthly bills.
| Plan | Monthly | 256GB upfront | 256GB total | 512GB upfront | 512GB total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| M1 Bespoke 50GB | S$44.07 | S$1,517 (out of stock) | S$2,574.68 | S$1,698 | S$2,755.68 |
| M1 Bespoke 200GB | S$55.97 | S$1,319 (out of stock) | S$2,662.28 | S$1,500 | S$2,843.28 |
| Singtel Enhanced XS | S$62 | S$1,450 | S$2,938 | S$1,610 | S$3,098 |
| Singtel Enhanced S | S$78 | S$1,320 | S$3,192 | S$1,470 | S$3,342 |
| Singtel Enhanced M | S$98 | S$1,070 | S$3,422 | S$1,210 | S$3,562 |
The M1 50GB plan works out cheapest. Its S$2,574.68 total for 256GB is only S$76.68 more than Samsung's retail price, for two years of a line. The catch is that WhistleOut showed M1's 256GB as out of stock, and the 512GB on the same plan is S$2,755.68. For 1TB, the M1 50GB total is S$3,147.68 and Singtel XS is S$3,468[15].
There's also a S$0-upfront route. On M1 Bespoke Flexi, with no contract, you pay the phone off over 36 months: S$59 a month for 256GB, S$66 for 512GB and S$78 for 1TB, on top of the plan. That's S$2,124, S$2,376 and S$2,808 for the phone itself[13][14][15], which is below Samsung's prices for all three sizes. WhistleOut listed the plan at S$39.95 a month. If you need a new line anyway, this is the deal to look at first.

Resale: the Fold8 holds up, the Fold7 didn't
Red White Mobile's buy-back list shows how values have moved[12]:
| Model | 256GB used / sealed | 512GB used / sealed | 1TB used / sealed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Z Fold8 | S$1,600 / S$1,900 | S$1,700 / S$2,050 | S$1,850 / S$2,370 |
| Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra | S$1,600 / S$1,900 | S$1,700 / S$2,020 | S$1,850 / S$2,320 |
| Galaxy Z Fold7 | S$850 / S$1,400 | S$900 / S$1,500 | S$950 / S$1,700 |
| Galaxy Z Fold6 | S$550 / not listed | S$600 / not listed | S$650 / not listed |
Two things stand out. First, the shop pays the same for a used Fold8 as for a used Fold8 Ultra, so the Ultra's extra S$300 is gone at resale. Second, a used Fold7 256GB that cost S$2,698 last year now fetches S$850, about 32% of its launch price. A used Fold8 256GB gets S$1,600 today; expect it to slide the same way.
Who should buy which
Get the Fold8 if
You read, watch and type on your phone more than you zoom with the camera. Buy the 512GB from Harvey Norman at S$2,660, or go M1 Flexi if you need a line, and add Care+ Lite.
Pay for the Ultra if
Photos matter, or you want the biggest screen for split-screen work. The S$300 gets you a telephoto lens, though you won't see that money back when you sell.
Keep your Fold7 if
It works. It only trades in for S$850 used, and the main gains are shape and charging speed. Fold6 and older owners get much more out of the upgrade.
Our pick: the 512GB Fold8 at about S$2,660 from Harvey Norman, plus S$58 for Care+ Lite, or a reservation call to Red White Mobile if you can wait for stock. Prefer a flip? See our Galaxy Z Flip8 review or the iPhone Duo review. For repairs, start with our Samsung repair shops list.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 in Singapore?
Samsung Singapore lists it at S$2,498 (256GB), S$2,798 (512GB) and S$3,398 (1TB), checked 28 Oct 2026. Harvey Norman had it at S$2,450, S$2,660 and S$3,110. Red White Mobile (a featured shop) listed S$1,988, S$2,098 and S$2,498, all marked out of stock.
What is the difference between the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra?
The Fold8 is shorter and wider, with a 5.5-inch cover screen and a near-4:3 7.6-inch inner screen, and weighs 201g. The Ultra keeps the tall book shape, has an 8-inch inner screen and adds a telephoto camera. In Singapore it costs S$300 more at every storage size.
