Xiaomi 17 Ultra Price and Review Singapore

By Jon Ng, AI Chief at Novatise · Updated

Most phones get cheaper eight months after launch. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra hasn't. Xiaomi Singapore still sells the only local version, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, at S$1,799 in all three colours[1], the same as its recommended price in February[2]. Challenger matches it[9]. So the question isn't where to find a deal. It's whether this camera is worth full price.

How we put this together: We haven't tested this phone ourselves. This review brings together published reviews, Xiaomi's Singapore specs and terms, and Singapore pricing and repair data. Every price was checked on 1 Nov 2026.

Is the Xiaomi 17 Ultra worth S$1,799 in Singapore?

Yes, if photos are why you buy a phone. GSMArena calls it "likely the best camera phone outside of China"[7], and HardwareZone singles out its portraits and low-light shots[4]. The price includes 512GB of storage, a 100W charger in the box[4] and, for sets bought through Xiaomi's official channels by 6 March 2027, one free screen replacement in the first six months[15]. If you mainly want a fast phone with a good camera, it's harder to justify: HardwareZone notes the Honor Magic8 Pro costs S$300 less[4].

The camera, lens by lens

Xiaomi dropped the two telephoto cameras of the 15 Ultra for one zoom lens that covers both focal lengths and everything in between[6]. The main camera keeps a 1-inch-type sensor, but it's a new one: Xiaomi calls it Light Fusion 1050L, and GSMArena's hardware apps identify it as an OmniVision part replacing the earlier Sony sensor[6]. This is the first Ultra with a Leica APO telephoto[3].

Main camera: the strongest part

GSMArena rates the main camera as "quite probably the best of its kind", with natural-looking detail and accurate white balance[6]. Its one complaint is that very contrasty scenes can look a little flat. It also found the 2x crop as good as the native 1x, by day and at night, which it says it hasn't seen other phones match[6]. HardwareZone liked the main camera too and preferred the Leica Vibrant colour profile over Leica Authentic[4].

Telephoto: more useful, worse up close

The zoom lens runs from 3.2x to 4.3x[6][8]. GSMArena says the 3.2x end replaces the old 3x camera "effortlessly", and the 8.6x crop is clearly better than the 15 Ultra's[6]. The catch is close focus. The new lens can't focus nearer than 26cm (30cm in Pro mode), while the 15 Ultra's short telephoto focused from 9cm[6]. If you shoot food at the hawker centre with the telephoto, you'll have to step back or switch to the main camera's 2x. GSMArena also found the 200MP mode rarely adds detail over 50MP, so you can leave it off and save storage[6].

Video: good, with one weak spot

Video is where reviewers hold back. GSMArena says footage from all three rear cameras is a step below ideal in sharpness, and the main camera's stabilisation is shakier than it should be, standing still or walking. The ultrawide and telephoto are steady[6]. GSMArena says video is probably what kept it from a perfect score[7]. Creators get 10-bit LOG at 4K120[3], LUT support, zebras and focus peaking, but there's no 24fps mode[6].

Xiaomi's optional Photography Kit Pro adds a case, a grip with a 2,000mAh battery, shutter and record buttons, and a 67mm filter ring[3]. Early buyers got it free; it was worth S$199 and the offer ended on 22 March[3].

There's one Singapore model, 16GB+512GB. There's no 256GB or 1TB version of the 17 Ultra here; the 1TB phone is the Leica Leitzphone[3].

Early buyers paid less. Pre-orders opened on 28 February at S$1,699, and that early-bird price ran until 6 March[2][3]. Since then the price has been S$1,799. HardwareZone's review called the S$100 rise over the 15 Ultra reasonable[4]. Android Central notes that memory shortages are pushing phone prices up generally[8], so we wouldn't wait for a big cut.

Featured shop: Red White Mobile, North Bridge Centre didn't list a new Xiaomi 17 Ultra on its price list on 1 Nov 2026, and its trade-in list didn't include one either[12][13]. We can't quote a price there, so call before you go. Red White Mobile is a paid featured shop on this site.

Why some online listings are S$500 cheaper

Lazada search results on 1 Nov 2026 included "Xiaomi 17 Ultra" listings at around S$1,220[11]. Two of them described a 6,800mAh battery[11]. The Singapore model has 6,000mAh; the 6,800mAh version is sold in other markets[4]. So these are imports, not the local set. That matters for after-sales. Xiaomi's VIP services, including the free screen replacement, only cover phones bought through Xiaomi's official channels and activated in Singapore[15]. Xiaomi Care requires a phone bought new in Singapore that was distributed here or legally imported[16]. Treat the gap as the price of giving those up.

Battery and charging: the local version is different

HardwareZone reviewed the European model with a 6,800mAh battery and points out that Singapore gets 6,000mAh[4], made with 16% silicon[3]. That's still large. Android Central found 6,000mAh easily lasts a day[8], and GSMArena called battery life class-leading[7]. Just expect a little less than the European figures you'll read online.

Wired charging is rated at 90W and wireless at 50W[3]. Singapore retail boxes include a 100W charger[4]. HardwareZone, using a third-party charger, measured 50% in about 28 minutes and a full charge in 74 minutes[4].

What else S$1,799 gets you

The screen is 6.9 inches, 2608×1200, up to 3,500 nits and 1–120Hz, behind Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0. Xiaomi claims it is 30% more drop-resistant than the 15 Ultra's glass[3]. It's the first Xiaomi Ultra with a flat screen and a flat back[3], which makes screen protectors easier to fit. Inside is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with UFS 4.1 storage[3]. HardwareZone found performance on par with the Honor Magic8 Pro and vivo X300 Pro[4]. GSMArena's cons list includes a camera app with so many modes it can feel overwhelming[7].

The Leitzphone costs S$500 more, for 1TB and Leica styling[2][3], and it wasn't in stock anyway. GSMArena compared the regular 17 Ultra with the Leica-branded Chinese version and found the photos essentially identical[6]. Among rivals, GSMArena suggests the OPPO Find X9 Pro as a cheaper option that comes close on camera, and the vivo X300 Pro for its processing[7]. HardwareZone calls the vivo X300 Pro a tough rival[4]. If you're comparing with Samsung, see our Galaxy S26 Ultra review.

If it breaks

Buy from an official channel in the first year and the after-sales package is generous. Xiaomi's VIP terms for the 17 series list[15]:

Xiaomi Care costs S$249 when you buy the phone[1]. It adds 12 months of extended warranty and 24 months of accidental and liquid damage cover, underwritten by Allianz, with up to four claims[16]. Each claim needs a deductible, but the terms don't state how much, so ask before you buy. It also includes a battery replacement during the extended warranty if capacity drops below a set level[16].

Resale and trade-in

Red White Mobile doesn't buy the 17 Ultra yet[13]. Its list shows how Xiaomi Ultras hold value: a used 15 Ultra 16GB+512GB fetches S$670, a 14 Ultra S$420 and a 13 Ultra S$320[13]. If you're upgrading from a 15 Ultra, that S$670 brings the 17 Ultra down to about S$1,129 before any trade-in bonus. Xiaomi's own store also offers trade-in[1], so compare both quotes.

Who should buy it

Buy it if

You take a lot of photos, especially portraits, zoom shots and night scenes. You want 512GB without paying extra, and you'll buy from Xiaomi or an official reseller so you get the free screen replacement.

Skip it if

You mostly shoot video while walking, you photograph small things up close with the zoom lens, or you'd rather spend S$300 less on a phone that's just as fast. A cheap import isn't a shortcut, because you lose the local after-sales cover.
